A retrospection of methodological pluralism in the <i>Journal of Financial Management of Property and Construction</i> (2005-2020)

Purpose This paper presents a review of research methodologies used in addressing problems the financial management property and construction journals from 2005 to 2020. Design/methodology/approach Content analysis 258 papers published Journal Financial Management Property Construction was carried out, enabling exploration approaches, epistemology, strategies, data collection methods researched area Findings The findings show that quantitative approaches dominate, whereas qualitative mixed were prominent in-depth understanding topics needed. Interestingly, almost third publications did not adopt approaches. In some journal issues, there relatively high use multi-method up 12% articles over past 16 years could be described as based on pragmatism. Research limitations/implications An important implication this is conventionally number-based does preclude are only generalisable Construction.
